Read chapter 10. Pay attention to descriptive details about the Tuck's house. We will be drawing our own versions in class on Monday.

Ch 5: I Play Pinochle with a Horse

1. The man who is guarding Percy as he sleeps is described to have eyes everywhere, even on his hands. What kind of Greek mythological is this? Describe.

My Immortal Bucket List

List 5 things you would do if you were immortal. Research where/ how/ details.
For each thing, state and describe the activity, the place, and why it's on your list. Also, make sure to insert a picture for all 5 places/ events. When you finish, email or share the file with me.

EXAMPLE: Skydiving.
I would skydive over the Great Blue Hole in Belize. The Great Blue Hole is a hole that was formed during different occurrences of glaciation when sea levels were much lower than they are now. I would like to do this because skydiving is so scary, but if I was immortal I would have nothing to fear. I would choose to skydive over the Great Blue Hole because it is so unique and beautiful.

Go to www.theoi.com and look up "centaurs." There are three different types described. List each type of Centaur, and list (in bullet points) 5 different characteristics of each one. We will use this information to make a mind-map in class tomorrow.

3. Grover is half man- half goat. Do some research and describe what he is.
4. Percy's Letter to Gabe.  Pretend to be Percy, writing a letter to Gabe, explaining how the Camaro got destroyed. Percy should try to convince Gabe the damage wasn't his fault.  You can tell the truth, or make up a false explanation, but you have to consider the damage to the car as it is described in the book.
